We believe in providing tailored care solutions that meet the unique needs of each individual and their family. One of the ways we do this is through our Individualized Home Supports (IHS), available both with and without training. Here’s a brief overview to help you understand how to find the right home care service for you, your loved one, or someone you care about.
Understanding Individualized Home Supports: With Training vs. Without Training
IHS Without Training
This option focuses on direct support and assistance in a client’s home or community. It encompasses a variety of services including companionship, assistance with daily living activities, and help with maintaining a safe and comfortable living environment. The goal is to support independence and quality of life without the inclusion of formal skill development training. You can find out more about IHS Without Training program here.
IHS With Training
Going a step further, IHS with training incorporates all the supportive elements of the non-training option but adds an educational component. This means clients receive direct instruction and support in developing, maintaining, and improving skills. Training can cover a wide range of areas such as self-care, communication, social skills, and other life skills essential for enhancing independence and community integration. Explore our IHS With Training program here.
Both options are designed to provide compassionate care tailored to the individual’s needs, but the choice between them depends on whether there’s a desire or necessity for skill development alongside daily support. We’re committed to ensuring our clients receive the right level of support and training to thrive in their homes and communities.
We believe in the power of personalized support to help individuals with disabilities achieve their full potential.

Individualized Home Support (IHS) With Training Program F.A.Q.
IHS With Training includes all the supportive services of IHS Without Training, like assistance with daily living activities, but adds an educational component. This means clients not only receive help with tasks like personal care and housekeeping, but also learn new skills for greater independence. In contrast,
IHS Without Training focuses solely on providing immediate, non-medical assistance in daily activities without the element of skill development or education. This option is ideal for those who primarily need support in their day-to-day living at home.
The program is available to individuals who live in their own or their family’s home and receive services through one of the following waivers: Brain Injury (BI), Community Access for Disability Inclusion (CADI), Community Alternative Care (CAC), or Developmental Disabilities (DD).
The program covers support and training in four community living service categories: Community participation, health, safety and wellness, household management, and adaptive skills.
